The candidate will work on ongoing R & D projects related to recombinant antibody development and validation.
Responsibilities –
- The candidate would be working with a team on research projects using standard molecular biology, biochemistry and protein biology techniques and protocols
- Responsible for designing experiments, execution, data analysis and diligent maintenance of records
- Routinely perform experiments/product development activities related to recombinant cloning, protein/antibody expression, purification, conjugation, as well as downstream analytical/ biochemical techniques like western blotting, immunofluorescence, Flow cytometry, ELISA
- Up to date on current technologies and methods in antibody development, antibody/protein purification and conjugation chemistries
- Presenting data to a larger group on a regular basis and troubleshoot as needed
- Development, evaluation, documentation and publication of new methods and SOPs
- Deliver high-quality results according to project schedule in support of product commercialization during early feasibility, development and validation phases.
Qualification
- Masters in Biotechnology/Life Sciences or related discipline with 1-2 years experience in molecular biology/biochemistry/protein biology workflow or relevant industry.
- PhD in life sciences or related discipline.
Skills and Experience –
- Working for knowledge and hands-on experience with protein/antibody expression, purification, and conjugation. Experience with multiple conjugation chemistries is preferred.
- Should have a clear understanding and laboratory skills in the area of molecular cloning, recombinant DNA technology, and downstream immunoassay techniques of ELISA, western blotting, and immunofluorescence.
- Experience with mammalian cell culture techniques, advanced microscopy and flow cytometry is a plus.
- Experience with independent design, execution and interpretation of experiments is required. The ability to troubleshoot technical challenges should be demonstrated.
- Data integrity and accuracy, attention to detail, ability to work in a fast-paced environment and strict adherence to deadlines is essential.
- Strong organizational skills coupled with strong interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written) are essential. Experience in mentoring undergraduate students or junior scientists is a bonus.
- Publications in peer-reviewed journals would be a bonus.
- Should be a good team player, ready to learn new techniques and an innovative thinker.
