On March 10, 2023, the Department of Biotechnology published the DBT JRF 2023 Notification for the Graduate Aptitude Test (GAT-B)/Biotechnology Eligibility Test (BET). The online application link has also been activated by the authorities and is available on the internet; it will remain live until March 31, 2023. The statement from the authorities also includes information on the application deadline, application cost, duration, and timings of the exam.
About DBT JRF 2023
A nationwide eligibility test is used to choose candidates for Junior Research Fellowships called the Biotechnology Eligibility Test (BET) or Graduate Aptitude Test – Biotechnology (GAT-B). After earning an M.Sc., M.Tech., or M.V.Sc., candidates in biotechnology who are interested in pursuing a doctorate can apply for the test.
The DBT JRF test is divided into two sections, the first of which covers aptitude and general biotechnology and is the same for all applicants, and the second of which contains questions from both the standard and specialised disciplines of biotechnology. Applicants who are interested in the exam should review all of the below-provided vital information before showing up for the exam.
DBT JRF Educational Qualification
Interested candidates must check their education qualifications for the DBT JRF exam before filling out the application form. The DBT JRF educational qualification is a prerequisite for the application form. If the candidate doesn’t satisfy the criteria, his candidature will be rejected.
- Candidates must have done BE/ B.Tech in biotechnology. OR
- M.Sc/ M.Tech. M.V.Sc. Degree in Biotechnology/ specialization such as Agriculture, Animal/ Veterinary, Pharmaceutical, Food, Medical, Marine, Industrial, Environmental, Bioscience and Biotechnology, Bio-resources Biotechnology, Biochemistry Engineering, and Bioinformatics”. OR
- M.Sc in Neuroscience and Molecular & Human Genetics.
- General & OBC Aspirants must have a minimum of 60% marks, and for SC/ST/ PH candidates, the minimum marks are 55%.
