Inviting applications for Project Positions

Applications are invited from suitable candidates for filling up the purely temporary position of one Research Associate-I (RA-I) in the SERB project entitled “Structure and biochemical characterization of plant SLX1, a novel structure-specific endonuclease involved in DNA repair and recombination”, of Dr. Vineet Gaur, Ramalingaswamy Fellow, NIPGR. The details of the position are as under:
Research Associate (RA-I) (One post): Emoluments as per DST/DBT norms and as sanctioned in the project.
Qualification: Candidates having Ph.D. degree in Life Sciences or related fields with a good publication records in journals of international repute and good academic record are eligible to apply. An experience with gene cloning, protein expression, protein purification (affinity chromatography and size exclusion chromatography), molecular modeling, In-silico docking, and molecular dynamics simulation is mandatory.
Knowledge in macromolecular crystallography and studying protein-nucleic acid interaction through biophysical and biochemical assays or an experience with FPLC/HPLC will get additional preference. The experience should be supported with documentary evidence/publications.
The above position is completely on a temporary basis and co-terminus with the project. The fellowship amount for the above position is as sanctioned in the project and as per DST/SERB norms. The initial appointment will be for one year or till the tenability of the project whichever is earlier and the same can be curtailed/extended on the basis of assessment of the candidate’s performance and discretion of the Competent Authority.
NIPGR reserves the right to select the candidate against the above post depending upon the qualification and experience of the candidate. Reservation of posts shall be as per Govt. of India norms. The appointment may be terminated any time by giving one month’s notice by either side. The applicants will have no claim implicit or explicit for consideration against any regular position of NIPGR.

Canvassing in any form or bringing influence, political or otherwise, will lead to disqualification of the candidate(s). A web link with the date and time of the online interview will be e-mailed to the shortlisted candidates only. The candidates must ascertain their eligibility before applying, as ineligible candidates will not be interviewed.
