BITS Pilani is inviting applications for one position of Project Associate to work on the following project which is sponsored by Department of Biotechnology, Government of India at BITS Pilani Hyderabad Campus.
Call for Project Associate-I Research Position
Project Title: Industrial-scale thermophilic biomethanation of food waste and sewage sludge for the production of bioenergy and biofertilizer.
Project Scheme: Accelerated Translational Grant for Commercialization (ATGC).
Funding Agency: Department of Biotechnology, Government of India.
Project Location: BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus.
Duration: 2 Years.
Number of Positions: ONE (Project Associate-I).
Essential Qualification: ME/ MTech in Environmental Science & Engineering/ Biotechnology or MSc in Environmental Science/ Biotechnology/ Life Sciences from a recognized University.
Desirable Qualification: Specialization and work experience in anaerobic digestion and solid waste treatment. Candidates who have qualified for CSIR/UGC-JRF.
Fellowship: Rs. 31,000/ month for candidates who have qualified for GATE/GPAT or CSIR/UGCJRF/NET or similar examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions. Candidates who have not qualified for the above conditions are entitled to a fellowship of Rs. 25,000/ month.
Job description: The selected candidate will work on industrial-scale biomethanation digesters with a focus on optimizing co-substrate ratios and operating parameters such as pH, temperature, and loading rate to enhance biogas (methane) production.
