Applications are invited from suitable candidates for filling up the purely temporary position of one Project Associate-II and one Student Trainee in the SERB Power Grant project entitled “Understanding the molecular mechanism behind the peripheral vascular bundle patterning in legume nodule”, under the supervision of Dr. Senjuti Sinharoy, Scientist, NIPGR.

  • Project Associate-II (one post): Emoluments `. 35000/- plus HRA per month as sanctioned in the project.

Qualification: Candidates having M.Sc./M.Tech/MCA degree (with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent) and having two year of research experience and fulfilling the guidelines as per DST-OM number SR/S9/Z-05/2019 dated July 10, 2020 are eligible to apply. A through knowledge of bioinformatics with hands on experience in RNAseq data analysis, Phylogenomic analysis, and database development skill is essential. Documented proof is need for the experience. Candidate with publication(s) on the relevant subject will be given preference. The upper age limit of the post is 35 years.

  • Student Trainee (One Post): Consolidated emoluments `. 5000/- per month as sanctioned in the project.

Eligibility Criteria: Candidates currently pursuing the B.SC./B.Tech/B.Eng./M.Sc. in any discipline of Life Sciences/BS- MS dual degree with biology as a major subject are eligible to apply. The tenure of the position is for two months and is not extendable.

Desirable Criteria:            Basic knowledge of molecular biology tools and techniques and handling plants.

The above positions are completely temporarily and co-terminus with the project. The fellowship/emolument amount for the above positions is as sanctioned in the project and as per DBT/DST norms. The initial appointment for the post of Project Associate-II will be for one year or till the tenability of the project whichever is earlier and for the post of Student Trainee will be for two months only and tenure of both the posts can be curtailed based on the assessment of the candidate’s performance and the discretion of the Competent Authority. NIPGR reserves the right to select the candidate against the above post depending on the qualification and experience of the candidate. Reservation of posts shall be as per Govt. of India norms. The appointment may be terminated at any time by giving one month notice by either side. The applicants will have no claim implicit or explicit for consideration against any regular position of NIPGR.

A web interview will be conducted. A link with the date and time of the online interview will be emailed to the shortlisted candidates only. The candidates must ascertain their eligibility before applying, as ineligible candidates will not be interviewed.
